Mamuna Atani (WHAT SHOULD A MAN DO?) — an engaging and thought-provoking short fiction film that explores the complex pressures surrounding masculinity in today’s society. Directed by Limbani Mpinganjira, a talented student filmmaker from the University of Malawi, Chancellor College, the film delves into the emotional and social struggles that young men face as they navigate expectations of strength, dominance, and identity.

Through a powerful narrative and compelling performances, Mamuna Atani sheds light on how cultural norms and gender stereotypes can drive individuals to make difficult—and sometimes destructive—choices in their quest to “prove” manhood.

This project was produced under the Brother2Brother initiative, supported by the Prince Claus Fund for Culture and Development, which aims to empower young creatives across Africa to challenge harmful gender norms and spark dialogue through storytelling and art.
